NAFC Announces Jennifer Rankin as the Chief Executive Officer

We congratulate Jennifer Rankin as she officially is appointed the CEO of NAFC.

“Jennifer is an Indigenous leader and advocate with more than 12 years of experience at NAFC she brings a strong combination of strategic leadership, operational expertise, and a deep commitment to the organization’s mission, values, and long-term objectives. Her appointment reflects the confidence of NAFC’s Board in her ability to lead the organization through its next chapter. 

Jennifer is a proud member of Batchewana First Nation and was born and raised on Algonquin Anishinaabe territory in Ottawa. She brings over a decade of experience advancing the well-being of urban Indigenous communities through her work with the National Association of Friendship Centres (NAFC) and other national Indigenous organizations. Her lived experience as an urban Indigenous woman informs her leadership and commitment to strengthening community-driven, culturally grounded services.  

Jennifer has served as Interim Chief Executive Officer since November 2025, providing steady leadership during a period of transition while maintaining a strong focus on continuity, stability, and support for NAFC staff, Provincial and Territorial Associations (PTAs), and Friendship Centres across the country. “
