Red Dress Day

Red Dress Day is a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two Spirit that honours the spirits of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Red chosen because its believed that this is the only colour spirits can see and it shows them the way home. On this day, participants are encouraged to display empty red dresses in public spaces or wear red dresses to show support for the lives of MMIWG2S+.
