We welcomed survivors and family members of 2SLGBTQ+ to an event where we paid tribute and honoured the lives of our lost loved ones. Meeting at the “Where our Paths Cross” sculpture, located along the riverbank in Saskatoon we came together to show support during Missing Persons Week. Our guest speak Janelle Pewapsconias read aloud some of her poetry in a sincere manner that touched the hearts of many. Elder Marjorie Beaucage sang the Honour Song, and it was heard for many miles. The closing of the gathering was a time to take a moment, pray and say the names of Missing or Murdered family members to call them home. We hope that this becomes an annual event and survivors and family members can come together to show support of one another and never give up hope.
