Racism is an ongoing concern with Indigenous peoples. To better understand the impacts of Indigenous racism across Saskatchewan, AFCS worked with our Friendship Centres to engage with communities to learn about experiences, attitudes and how to address racism at the community level. Each community, including AFCS on a provincial scale, hosted a different activity that resulted in gathering data on racism and developing ways to combat this reality. Activities include community events and gatherings, traditional ceremonies and practices, and anti-racism educational opportunities that were open to service providers and the public alike.
