In partnership with the Office of the Treaty Commissioner, AFCS is working with individuals, organizations, and communities to implement and measure reconciliation across the province. The robust framework is rooted in documents such as the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls’ Calls for Justice, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). It provides a journey with concrete actions to move towards reconciliation.
We ask groups to:
• Explore their history, connect with their ancestors, and advance their healing journey (Shared Understanding of Our History)
•Integrate Indigenous and non-Indigenous worldviews and culture into everyday practices (Vibrant Culture & Worldviews)
•Examine, dismantle, and build better systems (Systems that Benefit Us All)
•Build authentic relationships – trust and partnerships (Authentic Relationships)
